Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information duffiecpa.com (the “Site”) collects and how we use it. It covers the Site only. If you become a client, our separate Privacy Notice and engagement letter explain how we handle your tax and financial information.
Please do not send sensitive information through this Site
The contact form, email, and scheduling tool are for general questions and appointments. Do not send Social Security numbers, bank or credit card numbers, or tax documents through them. After you become a client, we will exchange documents through our secure client portal.
Information we collect
- Contact form. The name, email address, and message you type. We also record which page or source brought you to the Site (for example, a search or a referring website) so we know how people find us.
- Scheduling. If you book a consultation, our scheduling provider collects your name, email address, and any details you enter, and shares them with us.
- Automatic technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider and the third-party services the Site loads (see below) may receive your IP address and basic browser information when your browser requests a page or file.
- Browser storage. The Site uses your browser’s session storage for two small items: whether you have already seen the home page intro, and where you arrived from. It does not use advertising cookies.
The Site does not currently use analytics or advertising trackers. If we turn on website analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.
How we use information
We use the information you send us to respond to your inquiry, schedule and prepare for consultations, keep records of our communications, operate and secure the Site, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising by others.
Who receives it
We share information only with providers that help us operate the Site and respond to you: our website hosting provider, our contact-form provider, our scheduling provider, and the providers that supply the Site’s fonts and similar features. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect against fraud or misuse.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries and scheduling details for as long as needed to respond and to keep reasonable business records, then delete them. To ask us to delete your inquiry, email contact@duffiecpa.com.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections and multi-factor authentication on our accounts. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Children
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Links to other sites
The Site links to other websites, including our secure client portal and our business listing and review profiles. Those sites have their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy by posting a new version with a new date. Questions: contact@duffiecpa.com.
Terms of Use
By using this Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
General information only
The content on this Site is general information about our services. It is not tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice, and you should not rely on it for your specific situation. Using the Site, submitting the contact form, or booking a consultation does not create a CPA-client relationship. That relationship begins only when you and Brian Duffie, CPA, PLLC both sign an engagement letter.
No guarantees
We try to keep the Site accurate and current, but we make no promise that it is complete, accurate, or up to date. Tax laws change. Statements about services, packages, or pricing on the Site are descriptions, not binding offers; the engagement letter controls.
Your submissions
Information you send through the Site must be accurate and must not violate anyone’s rights or the law. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the Site (see our Privacy Policy).
Intellectual property
The Site’s text, logos, images, and design belong to Brian Duffie, CPA, PLLC or its licensors. You may view and share the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, but may not copy, modify, or republish it without permission.
Third-party links and services
Links to other websites and services, including the client portal, reviews, and scheduling tools, are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or practices.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Brian Duffie, CPA, PLLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, and the Site is provided “as is.” Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi. We may update them by posting a new version with a new date. Questions: contact@duffiecpa.com.
